While my guitar gently weeps - The Beatles
I served in the Royal NL Marine Corps for 6 years. This shaped me as a person and is what sets me apart in many organisations. I’ve been pushed to go beyond and learned to perform on a high level in difficult circumstances. Teamwork, discipline and perseverance are all traits that are embodied by marines and are still virtues I live by today.
Doing hard stuff is something I did as a Marine and I still like to challenge myself today.
Started self-defence in military service, continued with Krav Maga after I stopped playing football
Some pictures of my G1 exam and graduation
Had to run a lot in the military, never really liked it then. During the pandemic started it again just to get out of the house and now have a love / hate relationship with it 😅
Picture of me finishing the Amsterdam marathon ‘23 raising over €1200,- to aid in research to battle cancer. Next up Rotterdam marathon in April 2024
Played for almost 30 years and occasionaly still go out in the field, but primarily love to watch my boys play.
Some pictures of myself, but also my oldest son winning the National Cup a couple of years back.
As a Dutchie I like leaving the flat lands behind and head into the mountains and combining the family holiday with some hiking activities of course with plenty of leisure as well and activities for the kids. But also eating nice food and drinking some good wines.
The reason why I work hard, why I challenge myself is of course to provide for my family. But also because I firmly believe that I need to set the right example for my 3 boys. As I think it is not necessarily what I tell them as their father but rather how I present myself as a professional, as father and as a man is what counts most of all.
