Tasks included user research, prototyping, and collaboration with tech teams to prioritise feasible enhancements. Future vision incorporated adaptability to evolving financial and technical landscapes. Key results included a increase in user satisfaction, strategic positioning as an industry leader, successful integration of new technologies, and efficient phased implementations according to the outlined roadmap. This redesign demonstrates a holistic approach, balancing short-term gains with a long-term vision.

Problem:
The existing wholesale bank Insidebusiness platform faced critical usability challenges, hindering user satisfaction and impeding the bank's ability to stay competitive in the dynamic financial sector. Outdated features and technological constraints further compounded the platform's inefficiencies, necessitating a comprehensive redesign to address these shortcomings and position the bank as a leader in financial technology.

Approach:

  • Incremental Improvements: Conducted a comprehensive analysis of existing features. Prioritised improvements based on tech feasibility and user needs
  • User-Centred Design: Applied user-centred design principles for seamless integration. Ensured minimal disruptions for current users during implementation.
  • Future Vision and Roadmap: Developed a compelling future vision aligned with industry trends. Created a roadmap with phased implementations.

Native app:
In addition to incrementally improving the desktop application an initiative was also launched to do the same for the native app. Flows that benefited in the combined usage of both applications where prioritised. For example the ability to approve payments through the App that where initiated on the Insidebusiness platform where successfully integrated and improved.

Conclusion:
This redesign project exemplifies a well-executed strategy, detailing tasks, responsibilities, and measurable key results that contributed to the successful redesign of the wholesale bank's insidebusiness platform with a compelling vision to work towards. We also took the opportunity to apply our successful approach to other applications such as the native app to better integrate them and optimise the user experience for our business users.
