Tikkie for Business

Tikkie for Business launched by ABN AMRO bank in 2018 is a payment request application, offering the popular Tikkie solution (2016) to be utilised by businesses. This product aimed to enhance the onboarding flow of Tikkie for Business, focusing on creating an intuitive and efficient experience for users. Prototypes were created in an MVP setting and future vision, both where tested with business owners to explore the onboarding. Which resulted in improved experience and ease of use.

Problem:
Tikkie for Business aims to streamline payment requests between businesses and clients, offering a seamless and efficient solution for financial transactions. The initial focus was on the onboarding process and how to set that up as an intuitive and easy flow.

The application needs to provide a user-friendly interface, easy onboarding and ensures quick and secure payments requests.

Key actvities:

  • User Research: Conducted interviews and surveys to understand explore user expectations and preferences and test assumptions.
  • Competitor Benchmarking: Analysed onboarding processes in similar applications to identify best practices and innovative approaches.
  • Assessed technical feasibility and based on the assessment decided to create an MVP flow and a future vision.

Key Activities:

  • Prototyping: Created interactive prototypes showcasing the user interface, focusing on the improvements identified in the research phase.
  • Testing: Conducted usability testing with a group of business owners and their clients to gather feedback on the designed application and the onboarding process, making iterative adjustments based on user input.

Outcomes:

  • Streamlined Onboarding: The proposed onboarding flow fully met user expectation and enhanced user ease and speed in setting up this product for our customers.
  • Creating an MVP flow and a future flow made sure we could launch quickly and improve the intake based on the established tech roadmap.
  • Tikkie for business onboarding is still live and generating money for ABN AMRO bank.

Conclusion:
By prioritising the onboarding flow in the product design process, Tikkie for Business has successfully launched with a solid user experience that was improved over time. Ongoing feedback-driven iterations continued to refine the onboarding process for sustained user satisfaction. The streamlined onboarding steps contribute to a user-friendly platform that is still generating income for ABN AMRO to date, fostering efficiency and reducing user frustration.
